MISSIONS

In Matt. 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8, Jesus instructs his disciples to “make disciples of all nations,” and to “be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Grace has increasingly endeavored to discharge the Great Commission through its missions program both in the United States and around the world by partnering in prayer and financial support with men and women who have committed themselves to the mission field.  Grace has also fielded short-term missions trips to Fairmont, West Virginia, to improve the lives of some living in poverty in Appalachia.  Many but not all of the missionaries Grace supports are affiliated with the PCA’s Mission to North America (https://pcamna.org/), to the PCA’s Mission to the World (https://mtw.org/), or to the PCA’s Reformed University Ministries.

In 2021, Grace Church will participate in MTW’s Virtual Mission Conference on February 19–20.  We will gather together at the Church at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night to watch “Meet the Missionaries” and hear the opening session from Lloyd Kim, Presbyterian Minister and the Coordinator of Mission to the World. You can watch Saturday’s conference from the comfort of your own home.  It starts at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m.

This isn’t one big, long Zoom call. We’re partnering with an event platform that will have a lot of the look and feel of a typical missions conference, complete with plenary speakers, missionary stories from the field, breakout workshops, and roundtable discussions.

The theme is “His Story Continues.” Our world is in upheaval, but the work of making disciples of Christ is ever before us. The pandemic has raised existential questions, opened spiritual doors, and provided opportunities for local partners to lead. Now more than ever, we witness His hand at work and celebrate the assurance that His story continues.

You must register for free to attend and you need to sign up for the Hopin platform to stream the conference. Please click the link to register: https://www.mtw.org/opportunity-details/virtual-missions-conference. This link will also give you the schedule and a list of speakers when you register.

Listed on individual pages, in alphabetical order, are “core” missionaries whom Grace supports financially on a collective and continuing basis, including those serving on college campuses.  Those who serve in a “secure” area are also listed on an individual page.  In addition to “core” missionaries, other “visiting” missionaries have shared their ministries at Grace and are supported on an individual and/or “love offerings” and continuing prayer basis.  Finally, also listed are those who currently served as chaplains in the US military who have distinct ties to Grace and for whom we pray regularly.
